Third Sector Asia is Now Tri-Sector Associates

As of February 2019, Third Sector Asia will be officially rebranded as Tri-Sector Associates – a homegrown Asia and Oceania focused brand that will continue to be a global collaboration with Third Sector Capital Partners, Inc.

Third Sector is one of the leading organizations in the US in implementing innovative Pay for Success contracting models that drive government resources toward high-performing social programs. Since 2017, its affiliate Third Sector Asia has been exploring how to best adapt the Pay for Success model to the social sector in Asia and Oceania. In that time, Third Sector Asia has advised leading philanthropies, governments, and multilaterals around the region. With the support of Singapore’s Economic Development Board and prominent local venture philanthropists, Third Sector Asia will now be based in Singapore as Tri-Sector Associates, an Asia-focused brand that will continue to share global best practices with Third Sector.

“Over the past two years, we have had the privilege of working with leading social impact organizations on some of the first Pay for Success projects in Southeast Asia and Greater China. What we have learnt from our work to date is that the regional context is truly unique, so it is critical to adapt both the rationale and execution of the powerful Pay for Success contracting tool. Thanks to the generous support of our funders, we are thrilled to be able to create an independent brand focused on Asia and Oceania that benefits from Third Sector’s global experience. We believe that this will enable us to provide our clients cutting edge solutions that will be uniquely adapted to succeed within our regional context,” said Kevin Tan, CEO of Tri-Sector Associates.

Caroline Whistler, CEO of Third Sector, said, “Third Sector has been at the forefront in adapting the Pay for Success model to maximize impact. We believe that there is a promising opportunity to evolve the Pay for Success model for the benefit of those in need in Asia and Oceania and see the best way to do so as via an independent regionally focused brand. We are looking forward to our continued collaboration with Tri-Sector and to learnings from the region that we leverage in our work in North America and around the world.”
