Tyler Lewis is the Managing Director of Communications for Third Sector, located in Washington, D.C.
For 16 years, Tyler worked in the communications shop of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights and The Leadership Conference Education Fund, most recently as its director of coalition communications and research. In this role, he was responsible for developing and implementing strategies to maximize the communications capacity of the coalition, managing the organizations’ message development projects, and managing the organizations’ brand identity in all public communications. He is also an accomplished speechwriter.
Before joining The Leadership Conference and The Education Fund, Tyler worked in communications at Pre-K Now, a public education and advocacy organization advancing high-quality, voluntary pre-kindergarten for all.
Tyler is vice chair of Ngoma Center for Dance, a Washington, DC-based 501(c)3 arts organization whose mission is to provide a conduit between multicultural dance artists and their enthusiasts across generations and social classes. He is also a 2019 Global Messaging Program fellow, a prestigious, rigorous program designed to equip progressive leaders with the tools to develop more effective campaign messaging.
Lewis has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Creative Writing from Carnegie Mellon University.
