Sharolyn Miller is the Managing Director of Finance and Operations at Third Sector. She is a native of Jackson, Mississippi where she graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration and a Masters of Business Administration, with honors, from Jackson State University. She began her career at Trustmark National Bank as a management trainee and credit analyst and became the budget director for the City of Jackson, Mississippi in 1991. After serving as a senior budget analyst for WorldCom she returned to serve as the public safety administrator for the Jackson Police Department.
In 2004 Sharolyn was employed as the executive director of finance for the Jackson Public School district, the first African-American female in that position. Since November 2010 Ms. Miller has served as the Chief Financial Officer where she manages a staff of over 30 employees and conducts management and oversight of a budget that exceeds $400 million.
Sharolyn is a Certified School Business Official and was past president of the Mississippi Association of School Business Officials and is currently a board member of the Jackson Area Federal Credit Union. She has also served as a member of the board of the American Red Cross and Communities in Schools of Jackson. She is the proud mother of two sons.
