Dr. Michele Rochester is the Managing Director of Talent and Human Resources. Prior to joining the Third Sector team she served as the  Associate Vice President and Managing Director of Kaufman Institute, the Kaufman group's company-wide educational platform.
Dr. Rochester began her career as an Executive Human Resources Leader with Target Stores. Her next role was in organizational development in gaming and hospitality, where her career would progress to leading the talent teams of employers including MGM Grand Detroit and Greektown Casino-Hotel.
Michele holds a BA in History and American Studies from the University of Michigan, an MA in American Studies from George Washington University, and a Ph.D. in Education from Wayne State University.
She has been a guest speaker at Big I events in Florida and Indiana where she has spoken on generational learning, communication and team building. She has also been recognized as “Outstanding Student Leader” by the University of Michigan's president, as “Outstanding Team Trainer” by Target, presented with the “Jimmy Settles Award for Exemplary Diversity Facilitator’s Training,” and accepted by the US Department of Justice into the FBI’s Citizen’s Academy.
Dr. Rochester is an active leader developing and supporting members of Christ the King Service Corps to live in solidarity with and support essential human service delivery organizations in Detroit. She is also a certified Zumba instructor and married mom of two teenage boys.
