J is a Director based in Los Angeles. They are an experienced health disparities researcher and non-profit strategist. Prior to joining Third Sector, J was the Senior Grants and Project Manager at the California Pan-Ethnic Health Network, where they conducted research on the intersection of data and health inequities. In this role, J evaluated California’s Medi-Cal program for racial disparities in mental health service access and utilization and also developed recommendations for the use of area-based social indices to ensure they support community-driven decisionmaking. J also has experience conducting analyses of county ARPA spending, identifying best practices and areas for improvement to help support local advocates pushing for equitable spending allocations. In addition, they led the organization’s grant writing and state contract bidding, successfully raising a diverse portfolio of grants to support continued organizational growth and capacity building.
