Tom oversees all aspects of Third Sector’s financial operations. He focuses on the design, implementation and continuous improvement of the financial systems, grant compliance and fund accounting processes. This includes organizational areas such as budgeting, forecasting and reporting, financial oversight, human resources, and information technology. He has been a financial executive for more than 20 years, working primarily with growing, entrepreneurial nonprofits. Prior to joining Third Sector, he worked for more than a decade in the book publishing industry with David R Godine, Inc. and Beacon Press, in the health care quality improvement sector with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), and the National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF), and most recently in higher education with the Center for Public Leadership (CPL) at the Harvard Kennedy School. Tom served for 7 years on the Board of HIPPY USA (the Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters), and is currently a member of the finance committee with the Aspergers/Autism Network. He graduated from State University of New York at Buffalo with a degree in Management and Accounting.
