Farhana is a Manager based in Michigan. Her past experiences have spanned the private, public and nonprofit sectors in large urban centers such as Detroit, Chicago, and Philadelphia. She has a background in education/youth development, community organizing, research, and community and economic development.

Prior to joining Third Sector, Farhana spent three years as a Community Economic Development Program Officer at the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) in Hartford, Connecticut. At LISC, her main projects involved creating and overseeing a network of career and personal finance centers for Connecticut residents with low to moderate income and managing a long-term collaboration between health, housing and energy institutions to address residents’ social determinants of health.

Farhana completed both her undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Michigan; she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Science and Arabic & Islamic Studies and a dual Master’s degree in Business Administration and Public Policy.
